Romeo, Romeo....

Katie and I went with some of our homeschool buddies (Hannah and Diane) to see a performance of Romeo and Juliet at a local theater recently. Only check out the cast (below)....it was a modern day version. Kinda weird to see the actors in modern street clothes speaking "Shakespearean." Some of the director's creative touches included Juliet in a wheelchair and Mercutio showing up to Capulet's party in drag (glad I didn't take E and M to this one). It was interesting to say the least! After the play we had a great lunch and LOTS to talk about:) Katie is planning to attend high school in the fall. I am going to miss her!

Fab Lamp

Check out Katie's cute new lamp...she repainted a $3 lamp from Goodwill and a spiffed up a plain white Target lampshade with some ribbons.

This evening Ellie, Madison, Mason and Griffin got a bit overheated jumping on the trampoline....so Katie and I offered them some cherry koolaid... Psych!!

Made these yesterday...

Yummy bran muffins. The best part is it makes a big batch to keep in the fridge for up to six weeks for hot fresh muffins whenever we want. You can find the recipe at allrecipes.com.....I used half wheat half white flour, substituted honey for some of the sugar, butter for some of the crisco, and skim milk and lemon juice for buttermilk. I want to try applesause for the crisco next time but didn't have any on hand.
