I Love a Rainy Day

What a blissful, relaxing blessing of a day. As crazy as life can be around here I love it when weather intervenes and gives us an opportunity to slow down a bit. It rained ALL day today. Thursday is usually a slower day for us anyway but the cancellation of all soccer practices made for an especially sweet day. We have gotten a bit behind on schoolwork around here and since we are planning to take all of Thanksgiving week and nearly all of December off we have great motivation to get back on track. SO...our rain day was mostly a school day but we lit candles, ate soup and oatmeal cookies, helped each other with schoolwork and enjoyed not having to rush off to anywhere. Wade did start to rush off to work in the early afternoon only to get a call as he was leaving the driveway telling him his first flight was cancelled and he could hang out at home til dinnertime. That NEVER happens! Unfortunately, Madison did not enjoy the day as much as the rest of us as she had the stomach virus but thankfully was not nearly as sick as Ellie was on Tuesday.
