Never Ending Soccer Match

Katie's team won again this morning 3-0, won their under 14 bracket, and made it to the championship match. The match happened to be against the under 13 "sister team" in her club who also went undefeated in the tournament. Although her team dominated the game and put many more shots on goal none would go in for some reason. They ended tied scoreless after two 35 minute halves and two 5 minute overtimes. The tie breaker is a "shoot out" - 5 players from each team alternate kicking one penalty kick each one on one vs. the other team's goal keeper. Tied again! Continuing through the entire bench (about 14 players in all per team) neither team came out ahead - either both teams or neither would score each round. The coaches were joking that they would have to take a turn to get a result. What then? The siblings and parents? It was pretty hilarious. In the end the game came down to the last shooter- the goal keeper for the other team was able to score an unanswered goal causing us to lose.... just barely!
